Do I Need Maintenance Treatments?

Yes. We recommend periodic maintenance treatments to help preserve and extend your results. While Advanced Microneedling can stimulate collagen production and improve the appearance of your skin, it cannot stop the natural aging process.

Think of it like fitness: consistent treatments help maintain the improvements you’ve achieved, just as regular exercise helps maintain your physical results. Your provider can recommend a personalized maintenance schedule based on your skin, goals, and treatment response.

What to expect

During the procedure you will have a small amount of pain but less painful than tradition normal microneedling. Some areas around the face including forehead, nose, and upper lip will be more painful due to the thinness of skin. We do not use a numbing agent because we have found that the results are better without.

After the procedure it is normal to have redness in the areas that we have microneedled. Redness and very little if any swelling will subside in just a few days. Do not wash your face and areas that were microneedled for 4 hrs, your pores need to close and you want as much absorption of serum as possible in this time frame. Do not apply makeup for 72hrs until your pores are closed. Skin may peel or flake on it’s own do not pull skin off, let your body naturally do it for you. Keep out of the sun until your skin is completely healed.

Before Procedure

SUPPLEMENTS: Discontinue blood thinning agents such as vitamin E, vitamin A, Ginko, Garlic, Flax, Cod Liver Oil, Essential Fatty Acids and least one week before your treatment. Please stop multivitamins one week before your procedure as well. It’s fine to continue iron and vitamin D.

ALCOHOL & SMOKING: Avoid alcohol for three days before your session If possible, stop smoking or limit smoking for three days prior to your procedure. The longer you refrain, the better as we find it really impacts on the healing process!

MEDICATIONS: Avoid aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Iburprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren and other anti inflammatory medications for 3 days before your procedure (if possible please avoid for 7 days).  You may take Tylenol for any pains, discomforts or joint pains you may have.

Aftercare

Do not wash your face for 4 hours after treatment.

Wash face with gentle face wash and water before bed. Use serum to keep your skin moist. Make sure you have clean sheets before going to bed. Maintain clean skin surface practice. If you can do not wear makeup for 72hrs, if you must put as little as possible on since your skin pours are open and you do not want to risk a reaction from the makeup.

Next Day: You can clean your face with a gentle cleanser or use a medical grade cosmetic line. Stay away from exfoliates or glycolic acids that are present in cleansers as they can make your skin very dry after procedure. Apply recommended Exosome serum in the morning and before bed. If you use any other product make sure it does not have any alcohol or retinol in the product . The goal is to keep your skin moisturized.

Days 2-7 – Within two (2) days following your microneedling procedure, you will notice skin dryness or flaking. This is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. During this period, you may apply your regular skin moisturizer or the recommended serums. Days later your skin may start shedding. These are skin layers layers that would regularly shed a week later, but microneedling brings this skin to the surface sooner. Keep out of the direct sun, you can use sun block after 72hrs. Be sure to use an approved SPF30 or greater sunscreen.

MEDICATIONS: Avoid aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren and other anti inflammatory medications for 3 days after your procedure (if possible please avoid for 7 days). We want inflammation to occur – as this is one mechanism by which PRP works and its critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation !
